The IR transmitter will send a command signal to the designated receiver (TV, Amplifier, VHS, DVD, etc) just as the real remote control would do.
The X.10 communication will take place through the electrical line. This section is composed by a series of actuators that are placed between the controlled devices and the electric outlet.
Acting on the Cell Phone will trigger an impulse from the Main Unit to the electric line, the signal is pick up by the actuator that will perform the desired task.
This technology has many advantages, like: no need to lay new cables or wires (the electrical wire is already presenting every home) , a complete Plug & Play system.
